Reticulated Gecko vs. Texas Banded Gecko
The two banded geckos of the Big Bend: both have movable eyelids and slim toes with no pads. A: Small raised bumps (tubercles) scattered among the fine scales in the Reticulated Gecko; soft and smooth: no raised bumps in the Texas Banded Gecko. B: A net of many dark brown spots; bigger, 5 to 7 in in the Reticulated Gecko; dark bands or blotches; smaller, to about 5 in in the Texas Banded Gecko. Young of both are boldly banded; look for the bumps on the back.
