Seepage Siren vs. Lesser Siren

Lesser Sirens have been found within 200 m of Seepage Sirens, in leaf packs by deeper water (Fedler et al. 2023). A: Plain mouse-grey, without gold or yellow flecks in the Seepage Siren; olive to black with fine black dots in the Lesser Siren. B: Ivory to beige pits stand out on the head in the Seepage Siren; the pits on the head much harder to see in the Lesser Siren. The Seepage Siren is the smallest siren (under 8 in; the Lesser reaches 27 in), and its young lack the Lesser's red or yellow lip stripe.
