Southern Chorus Frog vs. Little Grass Frog
Young Southern Chorus Frogs are as small as an adult Little Grass Frog, and the two call from the same grassy pools. A: Grainy all over in the Southern Chorus Frog; mostly smooth in the Little Grass Frog. B: Three rows of dark spots in the Southern Chorus Frog; plain, or with one faint dark stripe down the middle in the Little Grass Frog. An adult Southern grows to 1.25 in; a Little Grass Frog never reaches three-quarters of an inch, and calls a high, insect-like set-see.
