Fern Bank Salamander vs. Cascade Caverns Salamander

Their ranges meet where the Blanco River and upper Guadalupe drainages touch (Kendall, Comal and Hays counties). A: Big, dark eyes and a rounded head in the Fern Bank Salamander; rather small eyes and a broad, flattened head in the Cascade Caverns Salamander. B: Brown with fine pale flecks and small dark spots in the Fern Bank Salamander; pale grey-brown with faint mottling; cave animals almost white in the Cascade Caverns Salamander.
