Chattahoochee Slimy Salamander vs. Northern Slimy Salamander
Two big black slimy salamanders of the far south-west, scattered with pale spots. A: Pale, clearly lighter than the belly in the Chattahoochee Slimy Salamander; dark, about as dark as the belly in the Northern Slimy Salamander. B: Few or no spots on the back, many white or yellow spots on the sides in the Chattahoochee Slimy Salamander; white or brassy spots scattered all over the back and sides in the Northern Slimy Salamander. Both leave a glue on the hands; the Chattahoochee is told by its pale chin and by place.
