Southern Two-lined Salamander vs. Northern Dusky Salamander

Look at the side of the head. A pale line running from the eye down to the angle of the jaw means Dusky; Two-lined has none, only a dark line running straight back from the eye. Then the hind legs — much heavier than the front on Dusky, slim on Two-lined. Colour does not help: Dusky varies from plain dark to patterned and pale.
