Spotted Chorus Frog vs. Boreal Chorus Frog
Both are tiny chorus frogs that call from grassy rain pools in early spring (records share 9 one-degree squares on the southern plains). A: Bright green spots edged in black, often a green triangle between the eyes in the Spotted Chorus Frog; three dark brown stripes or rows of spots on grey-brown; no green in the Boreal Chorus Frog. Both have a dark stripe through the eye and a pale upper lip. The Spotted Chorus Frog's call is a faster, rasping 'wrrank' repeated.
