Boreal Chorus Frog vs. Western Chorus Frog
You cannot reliably tell these apart by eye. Both have three dark stripes down the back, a dark stripe through the eye and a white upper lip. Boreal has slightly shorter hind legs, but the difference is small and hard to judge in the field. Both give the same rising, pulsed crreek, like a thumb run down a comb; the Boreal call is described as shorter and faster, but that varies by region and needs a recording to measure. In Indiana, Boreal is found only in the northwest — drop a pin and let the range decide.
